The Russia-Ukraine War and Its Impact on Global Security
The Russia-Ukraine conflict has created fundamental changes in worldwide security systems by demonstrating institutional limitations.. The 2022 full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine gave rise to a new Cold War situation which expanded NATO membership and accentuated the strategic rift separating democratic powers from authoritarian systems. This paper evaluates various security consequences of the conflict that extend from Eastern European military deployments to global energy market instability and loss of arms regulation systems. The research studies institutional reactions of NATO together with the EU and United Nations as well as tracks the progression of warfare threats through cyber, nuclear and hybrid domains. Realism and constructivism are used as theoretical frameworks in the study to explain the relationship between the state behavior, national identity and power politics in the multi-polar world and the policies on security.
